Best Wishes To The Cast And Crew Of Excess Baggage

Bottom Dog is currently working on a new version of The Revenger’s Tragedy for a production in November. The production will be the fourth and final production in the Limerick Theatre Hub’s ‘Elements’ season.

The first play in the season, Excess Baggage by Mary Coll is currently running at the Belltable.

Excess Baggage is directed by Joan Sheehy, the director of the hugely successful Buck Jones & The Bodysnatchers, which received a nomination for the best production at the Irish Times Theatre Awards earlier this year. The play is a new comedy set in a Ryanair departure lounge where a chance encounter explores the finer points of life, love and Hello magazine. Inspired by Chaucer’s iconic tale The Wife of Bath, this show guarantees a highly entertaining and fun night at the theatre.

“…It’s just that girls can be awful eejits when it comes to men, can’t they? Fellas want one thing, it’s fairly simple, but girls have a list a mile long, that’s the problem, so no one man can ever make them happy, better to take the first half decent one and save yourself a lot of tears…”

The cast of the piece includes Gene Rooney & Monica Spencer. Designed by Daragh Bradshaw & Kevin Smith with soundscape by Boris Hunka.

The show previews Monday 15th & Tuesday 16th June, opening on Wednesday 17th June at Belltable offsite @ 36 Cecil Street Limerick.

The shows runs until Saturday 27th June with nightly performances (excluding Sunday 21st June) at 8pm with matinee performances on Saturdays at 3pm.

Tickets can be purchased from the Belltable Box Office on 061 319 866.

We’ll be in the audience barking our approval!
